Dear Gabriel,
I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for publishing my work in the July 2008 issue of
your magazine. To be honest, it is my first ever publication, and I am thrilled and excited at
the prospect.
I would have sent this sooner, and in fact I meant to. Unfortunately, life has been happening.
Work got in the way, and between that and just writing in general, it's been difficult to find the
time for this note. But I really do want to thank you. You were gracious enough to accept my
work, and even gracious enough to hear my complaint over the formatting. I wasn't
expecting such cordial behavior, especially given how other magazines seem to regard
first-time writers.
I am deeply impressed, and I will definitely consider you for future publishing.
