I've always had a love of art, animals, nature, and of Fantasy and Science Fiction as well. I use many different mediums for my art work, originally starting with Pastel Chalks and experimenting with watercolor. More recently I've begun creating artwork on the computer, either starting with a blank slate, and 'painting' with graphics programs as raster or vector art, or instead starting with public domain or donated photographs, and recreating them into the results I want.
This painting was one which started as photographs. I combined elements from several different photographs and a little bit of original drawing to create the drawing I wanted. I then gave it a 'watercolor' look and feel. -Note- Please do not use this painting for any reason without my permission. It is under my copyright, and not in the public domain.
My model was a kitty named Kelly, and she had a serious illness known as VAS, or Vaccine Associated Sarcoma. An amputation was necessary in order to save her life, and her owner never tired of telling "how well she adjusted to life on 3 legs and continued to terrorize her much older and larger 'brother' Dude - She was as fast and feisty on 3 legs as she ever was on 4." After the eventual death of Kelly, I created this painting to honor her, and to help spread the word of VAS. The serious ailment that Kelly beat in the end. -You can find more information about VAS on my website. This image is available on several products, and is the first that will be used in a new 2009 Angel Cat's Calendar.
Currently, other than creating art for the joy of it, which I still do... I also create it for an income, to support my lovely 3 year old daughter, Little CAT.
I sell products with my artwork on many different sites... On some items, splitting the income with charitable organizations. I Do accept special requests.
